Charlee listens deeply to birdsong

allowing herself to be guided

by Nature

she sits in stillness

revering the play

of light and shadow

upon suburban walls

Charlee is a bridge

between

the mundane and the mystical

the unspoken and the manifest

The mind-shackled and the embodied

Charlee (Charlotte Browning, MA) received her dramatherapy training at Roehampton University, led by the exceptional nurturing guidance of ‘Mother’ and ‘Father’ archetype-holding tutors Henri Seebohm and Pete Holloway. Charlee is a state registered Dramatherapist with 12+ years’ clinical experience, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a member of the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth), a member of the ICO (data protection) and is fully insured with Holistic Insurance Services.

Rumi said, "Our greatest strength lies in the gentleness and tenderness of our heart."  That is what I witnessed when I first met Charlee.  Her embodiment had me mesmerised.  I didn't even know I needed it at that time.  But her presence brought presence. She brought kindness and affection and it showed.  When I invited tenderness into my heart, fear started to dissolve and I could feel the excitement of a new way of being within myself.  This was a major breakthrough for me.  Not only in my personal and business connections but my creativity too. It feels so good to be receiving my own tenderness.  I now call her Tender Queen. Thank you for the invitation.  I'm so grateful I accepted it.

DRAMATHERAPY

Charlee gently guides people to uncover, name, explore and mark important life moments, transitions; times that may have been unmarked, missed, unspoken about or marked in a way that now needs re-framing. Together we create the ritual or ceremony that is right for you.

This thread of Charlee’s work runs into all of her other offerings too, working intuitively to tune into the right moments for creating ritual and ceremony as a way of marking, processing and healing significant life experiences. It may well be that, through engaging with Charlee (for example, in one-to-one therapy, child-parent support sessions or a women’s circle), an appropriate time and space presents itself for creating a meaningful, bespoke ritual. This often involves crossing a threshold of some sort - a visualised threshold, an energetic threshold or, indeed, a co-created physical threshold made within a session.

Charlee works with women to bring about a societal Mutha-Lovin’ shift

Therapeutic offerings include:

  • Supporting women to connect with sisterhood, release shame and rise into their sovereign, empowered selves.

  • Therapy focussing on the experience of being a woman.

  • Cycle awareness: Tapping into the innate power, wisdom and magic of the Menstrual Cycle. Facilitating women to transform their experience of monthly cycles, bringing more ease, vitality and possibility to their lives. Creating deep connection, body honouring and alignment. Connecting to the seasonal cycles of the year - living in harmony with, and noticing, the abundant blessings and teachings of Nature and the seasonal changes.

  • Empowerment of The Birthing Woman: Perinatal support, therapy, visualisation, postnatal holding, creating a web of support… Charlee has developed her own ritual - the ‘Postnatal Sacred Bathing: Deep Mothering’ technique - to allow women who have recently given birth to be held in water with tenderness, Love and deep Mothering care, as they deserve to be.

One-to-one therapy sessions. Online or in person.

Safety. Playfulness. Embodiment. Liminal space. Journeying together.

Charlee particularly enjoys working with trainee dramatherapists for whom she offers a discounted rate.

GUIDES

My Mama

I thank my own, dear mother, for birthing me, for carrying me in her womb for nine months, for all the menial tasks, for all the mundane chores, for all the times she wanted me to talk with her, for all the cuddles, for all the little rituals, for all of her struggles, for her beautiful body, for giving me a heart full of compassion; for the depths of her Love.

A human who understands, and makes public, the intricate web of connection between body systems, social systems and psychological interconnection. Breaks stigmas that view ‘the addict’ as the problem, unearths transgenerational traumatic inheritance and speaks wisely of a ‘biopsychosocial’ perspective to understanding human interbeing.

" THAT WAS REAL"

-- participant in therapeutic group ‘Creating our Life’s Rituals’, Buddhafield festival workshop

Meg's Farm

“I hope to be as grounded, boundaried, knowledgeable and loving as you. You are so sensitive in guiding me through the tensions and so patient with me as I go in circles. Thank you for helping me to bear my heart out to you. I have come into a heightened awareness of my thought processes after working with you and I cannot thank you enough for believing in me and highlighting my strengths and blindspots. I am so, so glad to have found you”

-- individual client (one-to-one dramatherapy sessions over six months)

Charlee says…

“I am walking a path, an outdoor path, carrying a lantern, all four seasons surround me, I am walking to greet the sunrise in the meadow clearing.

I serve people on the brink of transformation, those who feel drawn down by external uncertainty, relationship disharmony, family dynamics, chores, parenting struggles, chronic conditions, dis-ease, diagnoses, prognoses, ill health, overwhelm, burn out, shame, guilt and fear.

I serve others by serving myself first. By honouring myself with daily care rituals and tenderness; by being the archetypal illuminated Mother to my own self every day. From this platform of nurturance I serve others by creating connection, possibility, reverence and safety.

I co-create transformational experiences with my clients. These experiences include individual dramatherapy sessions, fireside sister circles, ceremonies, child-parent support sessions, shame release circles, educative workshops, self-care guidance and completely unique bespoke packages created in the moment. I midwife the expression of innermost Truth, creativity and healing.

I serve humans. I serve anyone I meet upon this path that I am walking, barefoot in the woods, heading up to the sunrise; anyone who says YES to joining me on this path.

I facilitate the birthing of new ways of being; being-with one another”
